Canadian serial killer Karla Holmolka gives birth

Between 1990-1992, Karla Holmolka, together with her husband Paul Bernardo, raped and murdered at least four teenage girls, including her own sister. In return for testifying against her husband, Karla received a plea bargain, pleading guilty to manslaughter and receiving a 12 year prison sentence. She finished serving her time and was released on July 4, 2005. Paul is still in prison. In 2005, That 70's Show's Laura Prepon starred in a film about the couple's crimes.

Now it is being reported in the Canadian media that she, using the name Leanne Teale, gave birth to a seven pound boy at a Montreal hospital on February 3rd.

The lawyer for the families of her victims said, "There is a very distressing irony that their children won't grow up to have children, and the person who willingly participated in their abduction, kidnapping and sex torture and murder is now having a child."

Comments:
That´s just sick.

Yeah and the media is eating up the "lack of care" cry she gave about the staff at the hospital.
As a person who has relatives who have "worked with her" in the facilities that she resided in for the past years...
This is sick.
Wonder who the poor schmuck is who fathered it.

This person should have had her tubes tied.I will never forgive her no matter what she says about being abused as a child.I was shot by my mother when I was 3 yrs.old and the bullet still resides between my pelvic and spine plus I was sexually abused.I could never inflict pain on any living thing.I went through intensive therapy before becoming pregnant because I knew the odds were against me to be a proper parent...I pray her son will be safe God help that little boy!

now theres a murderous irony

What is sad about this is that kids are raising themselves these days. I know this because I am one of those kids and face it, all you have to do to see it for yourself is look out the door and into the streets and schools. The majority of parents these days either don't care about their kids, don't care about what their kids are doing, or parents are just ignorant towards their kids. That isn't even the worst of it, because of the parents that the kids come from , because of their ignorance, the kids don't care enough about themselves, and thus don't care about the things that are happening around them. This degrades the want for freedom and makes them loose a great deal of the uniqueness that helps us all live easier, happier lives.
I just hope this woman has the sense to live better life, for her sake and the sake of her child.

i think karla homolka should be left alone now she served her prison time she is a mother now so maybe she can feel the pain of the mahaffeys and the frenches their children will never have the chance it is sad but i believe karla has come a long way i hope she treats her baby well

Left alone? Are you serious? Karla Homolka is a sociopath - a deviant of the highest order. To be able to sit by and assist in the death of her own sister for God's sake - to be alone with the Mahaffey and French girls and not use the opportunity to help set them free (if she really was the abused spouse she claims to have been); to have brutally and gruesomely assisted in the murder of Leslie Mahaffey and then get married a mere 12 days later...you think about it "Anonymous" - if it were your daughter or son who had been kidnapped, tortured, raped and murdered, would you want them to be "left alone"?

As a footnote, I am a very gentle person by nature - I avoid conflict - but in this case, I sincerely hope Karla fears her own death every minute of the rest of her waking life. Because I do believe - justice will eventually be served. And there will be plenty of people in Canada and the rest of the world who will let her son know the monster his mother is.

This comment is to "Anonymous" regarding what you said about people leaving Karla Holmolka alone. I too believe that she should be left alone. She has served her time, long enough or not long enough, people think she should have served life. The law is the law and she did come foward with the information about what she had done along with her then husband Paul. This shows she could not live with what she had done,in other words she had felt guilt! People have there own opinion on that. I believe her crimes were the absolute horrific of all crimes. I have read about them in books and will forever be haunted by the thought of what these young girls indured. But that being said I do believe she loved Paul and was scared to be alone and suffered from low self asteem. She said in her own words that she was not thinking clearly. Whether or not anyone agrees with her reason for not coming forthwith sooner not (speaking lightly). I myself have been in an abusive relationship. I know that love can blind you. Aside from all I've said I think everyone who has repented there sins should be forgiven so long as they are truly sorry.

Can you all really believed she has changed? People dont just go from being evil to seeing the error of their ways. I think she should have been sent her to Texas we would have taken care of her. # counts and video evidence shed head to the front of the line.

She came forward with information Not due to her feeling guilt but because she knows like most who have committed crimes that she was sure to get a deal is she spouted off the facts first and did her best to add most the blame on him. She had a bigger part than she ever let on I bet you that. The fact she could even consider to involve her own teenage sister in this twisted life she had with this perv is just more proof that NOTHING matters to this woman but her and what she feels will keep her in a relationship Can you see her a few years from now the guy decides to leave her. Maybe says he is tired of being a father and the responsibility? Would you want that to even happen?> Can you imagine what she may do to hold on to that man? Scary
Which is why I Pray that this child stays safe and has a chance at some sense of normal

I feel so sorry for the little boy she has given birth to. How will he feel one day when he finds out just who his mother really is? How will he ever live with that horror in his life? That dreadful woman should have had her tubes tied and should have been kept in prison for LIFE, just as her sick and twisted former husband is doing right now. How dare she be freed, only to kill again one day. I only hope that her twisted and perverse mind will not turn on her own innocent child
one day. God help him.

Guns Don't Kill People. People Kill People.

"A body found in north-east London has been identified as that of a banker who was questioned by the FBI about the Enron fraud case. Police said they were treating the death in Chingford of Neil Coulbeck, who worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland until 2004, as "unexplained"."
[BBC]

"Coulbeck joins convicted Enron kingpin Ken Lay and U.S. Export-Import Bank chief (and Cheney crony) Phlip Merrill on the roster of convenient deaths related to the U.S.-Enron collapse. Lay's involvement with Enron's crimes is well known. Less documented is the deep criminal involvement of the U.S. Export-Import bank -- a little-understood federal agency that shovels billions to "foreign" companies and governments to encourage exports of American goods and services. In reality, the Ex-Im bank mostly hands taxpayer money to American corporations with foreign operations such as Enron, which took some $800 million from Ex-Im between the two Bush presidencies.
[Sploid]

"A coroner in Texas has ruled that Clifford Baxter, a former senior executive of the bankrupt US energy giant Enron, committed suicide."
[BBC]

"According to a police source, Skilling was running up to people in bars and on the street, pulling open their clothes, and claiming that they were undercover FBI agents. The source said police took Skilling to a hospital for observation and he was not charged with a crime. Skilling is facing 35 federal counts including fraud, insider trading and other crimes in the collapse of Enron."

gay people kill gay people..drug dealers kill drug dealers, and swimming pools kill more children than guns (freaknomics.com) ... but gay swimming pools kill drug dealers

Actually, straight people usually kill gay people, it's what we call ignorance and misunderstanding. Ignorance because people just don't want to understand the things they hate and don't understand. Misunderstanding because people just don't want the truth about what could destroy their justification to everything. Juastification, that term that i hate so much, it destroys things and makes people think it was for a "good cause". The survivalist is keen on using this, it makes him greedy and selfish and stupid. Fools are the best at this, they start wars when there is always a more solid and possitive alternative, they'd rather destroy the world's atmosphere and forget about it so that later on their children suffer for it. Who cares though? Everybody wants to conform with this idiotic and ultimately destructive road. It's starting to slow up a bit as we're getting closer to the conclusions of our many pasts, not saying that the end is nigh or anything. Greed still runs the world and advancement is encumbered with lies and falsities of promised funding or misuse of our mortally given responsibilities. There are so many people on Earth right now. We have so much to account for. If we could forget our insignificant differences and misunderstandings, don't you think that things would run more smoothly? This is logic talking, and a feeling pulsing heart. A logic that is calculating that if we aren't careful with what we do, we will pay for it in kind. If it's not you specifically, then it's bound to be your neighbour, your friends, or your grandchildren. And if you just don't care then shame on you.

Whip City

Nothing really starts your day off right as does a big picture of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the front page of your local paper. And to find that Whip City itself is the center of attention, well...lemme tell you.

According to TMZ, "...the FBI and Massachusetts authorities raided a Westfield, Mass. home Tuesday night and seized photos of a baby shower held by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt."

But according to the local paper here, "The FBI somehow got left out of all the fun. Michael G. O'Reilly, supervisor of the FBI's Western Massachusetts office, said yesterday his agency had not been involved, as did Enfield Police Chief Carl J. Sferrazza."

No matter. For those of you not familiar with this very important case, it goes like this. Jolie's brother took the offending photos. His camera was broken so he brought it back to Best Buy so that they could fix it. Best Buy sent the camera, with the memory stick still in place, to Precision Camera and Video repair in Enfield Conn. Why you might ask did the Best Buy in LA send the camera, literally, all the way across the country? Well, actually, your guess is as good as mine, though the store does claim online to be the largest camera repair facility in North America, and they do repair warranty repair for all the major camera manufactures.

Again according to TMZ, "...two employees at Precision, Bill Keyes and Adam Beckwith, discovered the pictures in the digital camera. We're told that Keyes told authorities that Beckwith downloaded the photos."

Keyes than floated a balloon out to Celebrity Baby Blog and others, attempting to ascertain the value of his sweet find.

But somebody dropped on a dime on him, and that's when the authorities in LA contacted the authorities out here, and a search warrant was served on Keyes home. The photos now sit safely in the Wesfield Police Department, awaiting a safe return to their rightful owners. I imagine they will be escorted back to Jolie on Air Force one itself.

How Many Policemen Does It Take...

    to retrieve a football?

Ray Markham found out when he decided to make a stand against rogue footballs and refused to return one after it smashed a window:
The 68-year-old, who lives next to a policeman in Cubbington, said he was then arrested by four Warwickshire Police officers for theft of the ball... Mr Markham said: "If it hadn't been a policeman next door let's be honest, I wouldn't have had four policeman on my doorstep, I wouldn't have seen a policeman. They can't come out to burglaries, do you think they would've come out, four policeman to collect a ball?"
With the current World Cup fever gripping the UK and our brave boys doing their bit overseas it's surprising that Markham didn't find himself crucified in his front garden as a warning for others to be more reverent of out national sport. Or is that cricket? I forget.

How Do You Put A Corporation In Jail?

You don't. You can't. It's only a piece of paper that exists, most likely, in some back room of a drab looking state building in Delaware. A small white piece of paper, with more rights than a person, yet without the unfortunate application of responsibilty and accountability that we ourselves have to be saddled with.

I want to be a corporation.

"Drugmaker Merck & Co.'s research facility in West Point dumped a chemical compound that included cyanide into the sewer system, killing more than 1,000 fish in Wissahickon Creek, federal authorities said Thursday."

"It's hard to believe that a huge company like Merck would take this long to get to the bottom of such a serious problem," said Tracy Carluccio of the Delaware Riverkeeper Network, a nonprofit environmental group.

    Um, actually, no. It's not.

And than, as if on cue from the devil himself, "A week after a contaminant was released into the Wissahickon Creek, killing more than 1,000 fish, malfunctions at the Ambler sewage treatment plant Monday night sent 55,000 gallons of raw sewage into the waterway."

Arson. It's What All The Kids Are Doing

Awoke to the sun shining thru my blindless windows at 5am-ish. Heard the familiar sounds of heavy trucks backing up and moving around sluggishly. I made a mental note about this, as I used to hear this every morning when the garbage trucks would come slumbering down the street. I no longer hear these sounds though, as garbage trucks are no longer allowed to do pick-ups before 7am due to the unfortunate noise they produce.

Then I smelt the smoke. That unmistakable smoke smell.

Looked out the window, and this is what I saw.

Put on my pants, grabbed the camera, woke the roommate, and went outside.

    And I took photos.

I took photos of a house burning down to the ground, a target of a succesful arson attempt. Only a few short weeks after a similar attempt in March.

At approx. 2 am this morning, someone walked up to the back porch, poured gasoline all over it, and set it ablaze. Six people lived in that house, and all six made it out safely.

Video of the firefighting effort, and of the subsequent demolition, here.
